Windermere and Ambleside Lions Club

Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.

Our Club was formed in 1974. The ‘mother’ club was Fleetwood and Cleveleys Lions Club Lancashire.

The original name of the club was Windermere (English Lakes) Lions Club. Later, as our funding expanded into Ambleside and area, we changed our name to what it is now, Windermere and Ambleside Lions Club.

We now have an Incentive Card, which is sold to visitors to The Lakes, the card entitles the holder to discounts or other offers at restaurants, shops or visitor attractions. Of course, the card can be purchased and used by locals too, all money raised goes to Lions causes.
